A NEW SERIES of informal online forums is designed to give educators who share similar contexts an opportunity to come together and engage in discussion, Q&A and sharing of best practices. These facilitated forum discussions will be held quarterly for up to 90 minutes in four areas – administrators, charter schools, large urban schools and low incident schools. Participants must register separately for each forum.

Participants are asked to submit questions and/or comments in advance of the session to the appropriate online database. Submissions will be treated anonymously and will help frame the forum discussion. The forum facilitators will review submissions in advance to organize and synthesize them by topic. During the forum, the questions/topics will be displayed in the order in which they will be discussed. Facilitators will allocate a certain amount of discussion time for each topic. PDE staff will begin addressing each topic by responding to the question(s) and offering guidance from the state, as appropriate. After PDE staff concludes commentary, participants will have the opportunity to use the raise hand feature of the platform and share a relevant follow-up question, best practice, or general comment. When the allotted time is up for the topic being discussed, forum facilitators will move on to the next question/topic. Further instructions for participation will be provided at the start of each session.

NOTE: Questions/comments submitted less than 48 hours prior to the forum may not be included but will be considered for the following quarterly forum. Submission of a question/comment is not a guarantee of inclusion in the forum. Participants do not need to submit questions/comments in order to participate or listen to the discussion.
