The Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Center for Schools and Communities are pleased to announce the 2010 English as a Second Language (ESL) Conference - Assuring Academic Achievement for English Language Learners through the Standards Aligned System will be held at the Hilton Harrisburg Hotel in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on June 21 - 22, 2010. The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) within the Institute of Education Sciences has just updated the Career/Technical Education Statistics (CTES) website. The CTES website includes tables describing career/technical education (CTE) at three levels: 1) secondary/high school CTE, 2) postsecondary/college career education, and 3) adult education for work. These tables are updated periodically to incorporate new CTE-related topics and data from new surveys. In this update, 36 tables were added to the secondary/high school tables, covering the topic of high school student participation in CTE. Fifteen new tables were added to the postsecondary/college tables, replacing tables on current postsecondary career education offerings and credentials with tables on trends in offerings and credentials.
